Token Estimator does not collect, store, sell, or transfer any personal user data.

API Keys
If you choose to use the “Deep AI analysis” feature, you may enter your own
Anthropic API key. This key is stored locally in your browser only, using
Chrome’s storage API. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers,
except as a direct pass-through when you click “Deep AI analysis” — at which
point it is sent securely to our backend, used once to call Anthropic’s API
on your behalf, and not logged or retained.

Prompt Content
Text you type or paste into the extension is sent to our backend solely to
calculate token counts and estimated costs. We do not log, store, or review
this content. It is processed in memory for the duration of the request only.

Browser Permissions
The extension uses the activeTab and scripting permissions only when you
click the “Grab” button, to read text you have already typed into a
supported AI chat page (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini). It does not
run automatically and does not modify any page content.

Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. If you use the
Deep AI feature, your prompt and API key are sent directly to Anthropic’s
API to fulfill your request — this is the only data transfer involved, and
it occurs only when you explicitly trigger it.
